- Thread the end through the buckle and pull to achieve appropriate venous occlusion — veins should be visibly distended but arterial flow maintained
- Perform the venepuncture or cannulation procedure
- Press the quick release button to release venous pressure immediately on needle insertion or as clinically indicated
- Remove and dispose of the tourniquet after single use in accordance with local clinical waste guidelines
